What data

Order data: name, email, billing address (as needed for payment/VAT), products ordered, amount. As we only deliver digital downloads, we do not ask for a shipping address or phone number.
Payment data: processed by the payment provider; we do not see full card details.
Contact: whatever you send us by email or contact form.
Newsletter (only with consent): email address.
Technical data and cookies: IP address, device/browser, browsing behaviour on the site.

Purposes and legal bases (GDPR art. 6)

Fulfilling your order and delivering the download – performance of contract.
Accounting and tax obligations (retention 7 years) – legal obligation.
Customer service – contract / legitimate interest.
Newsletter and marketing cookies – consent (withdrawable at any time).
Security and fraud prevention – legitimate interest.

Recipients

Shopify (store platform and hosting), Shopify Payments and the payment methods offered through it (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay) for payment, the Shopify app Digital Products for delivering downloads, and Shopify Messaging for emails and the newsletter. We currently do not use any external advertising or analytics parties; if that changes, we will update this policy beforehand. We conclude data processing agreements with processors. Data may be processed outside the EEA (e.g. by Shopify) based on appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If you sign up for our newsletter (e.g. on a code page after finishing a game), we process your email address, sign-up date, language and the game through which you signed up (as a tag). We only use this to inform you about new games and offers about twice a month and to send you a welcome discount. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box yourself. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email; we keep your data until you unsubscribe. The newsletter is sent via Shopify Messaging.

Retention

Order and invoice data: 7 years (tax law). Customer contact: up to 2 years after resolution. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies for the store to work. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set after consent via the cookie banner.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may withdraw consent at any time. Email hallo@puzzlepost.nl; we respond within one month. You may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
